Visa

As of July 15, 2024, nationals of 93 countries and territories—including Mexico, Guatemala, and Cuba—no longer require a visa to enter the Kingdom of Thailand for tourism, business meetings, urgent or ad-hoc work lasting up to 60 days. A maximum 30 stay extension is permitted by the Thai Immigration Office. More information can be found in the Visa Exemption section (view Visa Exemption section). All other types/purposes of visit for nationales of Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba, and the other 90 countries with the said exemption, will still require a visa.

The holders of ordinary passports from Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Haiti still require a visa to enter Thailand for all purposes of travel.

Please send an email to thaiconsulate.mx@gmail if you have any questions about consular services. Emails sent to other Embassy email addresses and telephone calls on this matter will not receive a response.

The process to apply for a visa

  1. Check the type of visa and its required documents carefully. Applicants shall submit the application and complete documents at least 30 days before the intended departure date to allow ample time for the visa processsing.
  2. Once all documents are completed and correct, submit the scanned documents to thaiconsulate.mx@gmail for revision.
  3. Once the submitted application via email has been approved, the Embassy will notify the applicant to make payments for the consular services at Scotiabank in USD (view visa fee here).  Then, provide proof of payment (bank slip) to [email protected] . Please do not make any payment before receiving confirmation from the Embassy.
  4. After the Embassy has received and confirmed the payment, the applicant will be instructed to submit the original documents. There are two options for submitting the original required documents:
    • In-person documents submission at the Embassy: The Embassy will schedule an appointment with the applicant. Applicant should present all of the original required documents that are previously approved by the Embassy, together with the passport and the original bank receipt
    • Documents submission via DHL: Submit all of the original required documents that are previously approved by the Embassy, along with the passport and the original receipt with a prepaid envelope (return envelope). The embassy is not responsible for any lost or damaged documents.

Notes

  • Please do not visit the Embassy or make any transfer without our notification.
  • Since the bank receipt is valid within the current month and the fee is non-refundable under any circumstances, please ensure that the documents will arrive in time (in the same month when the payment is made). For international transfers, the applicant will be instructed to make the payment by the first week of the month to allow ample time for payment verification.
  • The original bank receipt is required for the visa procedure.
  • If the documents are not complete according to our requirements, the Embassy may request for any additional documents deemed necessary.
  • False or falsified documents may result in visa rejection.
