On March 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM, the Royal Thai Embassy in Mexico City organized a ceremony to receive the Buddha statue, Buddha Sirindhorn Thepparatmongkolbhuwadolsanti, granted by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of the Kingdom of Thailand. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Rooge Thammongkol, Ambassador of Thailand to Mexico, with presence of officials from the Royal Thai Embassy and members of Team Thailand in Mexico and spouses.
The Buddha Sirindhorn Thepparatmongkolbhuwadolsanti, is a 20-inch tall, 10-kilogram metal statue in the "Pang Leela" (walking) posture. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the buddhist consecration ceremony on July 22, 2023, at Suthat Thep Wararam temple. Her Royal Highness graciously ordered that the Buddha statues be distributed to various institutions both in Thailand and abroad, including the Royal Thai Embassy in Mexico City. Through this benevolent gesture, Her Royal Highness seeks to bring prosperity, peace, and protection from misfortune while fostering the enduring strength of the nation, religion, and monarchy, as well as the well-being of the Thai people and the world.
