On February 26, 2025, between 9:00 - 10:30 AM, H.E. Mr. Rooge Thammongkol, Ambassador of Thailand to Mexico, met with representatives of Chulalongkorn University to discuss collaboration with the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). The key points of the discussion are as follows:
(1) In the meeting with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Palanee Ammaranond, Vice President of Chulalongkorn University, the University is committed to expediting the review process of the draft MoU between the two universities to ensure its timely conclusion and signingduring the 6th Meeting of Thailand-Mexico Political Consultations. It is hoped that the Rector or a representative of UNAM will be able to join the signing ceremony. Additionally, Chulalongkorn University is ready to facilitate a lecture by Mr. Fernando Gonzalez Saiffe, Director-General for Asia-Pacific and Head of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs' delegation, at the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University during his visit to Thailand.
(2) In the meeting with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pasuree Luesakul, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and Asst. Prof. Kiat Thepchuaysuk, Director of the Center for Thai as a Foreign Language, both sides agreed to support the creation of an online Thai language course for UNAM, as well as promoting the Thailand Week event in Mexico, which will feature a lecture on "Food – The Connection between Thailand and Mexico" at the Thailand Week and UNAM.
