On 28 June 2024, at 11.00-11.30 hrs.,H.E. Mr. Rooge Thammongkol, Ambassador of Thailand to Mexico met with H.E. Mr. Marcos Fermín Rodríguez Cost, Ambassador of Cuba to Mexico to introduce himself on the occasion of assuming his duties as Ambassador of Thailand to Cuba , with residence in Mexico City.

 

On this occasion, Ambassador Rooge informed the Cuban Ambassador of the upcoming visit to Cuba of a Thai delegation in the fields of health, medicine and science to explore the possibility of exporting new medical technology and innovative drugs and vaccines to Thailand, as Cuba has the expertise in this area. The Ambassador also informed about the visa exemption measure for Cubans wishing to enter Thailand for tourism purpose with a stay up to two months. This measure will be an important milestone in promoting people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

 

Furthermore, the Ambassador expressed his readiness to explore the possibility of exporting Thai products to Cuba, such as rice, frozen chicken, seafood and other necessary products . He also suggested that Cuba could import from Thai companies with factories closer to Cuba such as in Turkey or Dubai in order to reduce logistics cost.
